14th International Biotechnology Symposium and Exhibition - IBS2010

The overall aim of 14th IBS is to explore the advances, frontiers and applications of biotechnology for a healthier and more sustainable future and a knowledge-based bio-economy all over the world, and to strengthen relations between industry, research laboratories, government agencies on such strategic issues for human sustainability. The program will cover all aspects of biotechnology: Systems Biology for Biotechnological Innovation; Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology; Animal Biotechnology; Industrial Biotechnology; Biotechnology for Bioenergy; Food Biotechnology; Plant Biotechnology; Forest Biotechnology; Environmental Biotechnology; Chemistry in Biotechnology to strengthen the Biobased Economy. In addition, two Round Tables addressing key issues such as Biosafety & Bioeconomy and Biotechnology in the Developing Countries along with a final plenary section focused on the technical and political strategies for promoting the biotech RTD have been planned.

A dynamic and RTD-oriented programme, highly qualified speakers from academia, governmental institutions, and industry will be other major features of the event. Brokerage Events, Stakeholders’ meetings and Project meetings related to European Framework Programs will be hosted and special emphasis will be given to the presentation of outputs of European FP6 and FP7 projects. A significant part of the programme will be covered by oral presentations selected from submitted abstracts. Finally, special issues of very qualified journals published by Elsevier, who is helping to organize the event, are offered.

Low registration fees, awards for excellent young scientists together with low accommodation costs in Rimini and post-conference activities such as excursions to major Italian cities (Bologna, Venice, Florence, Rome, Ravenna, etc.) are planned.
